The first thing to check if your mic isn't working is to make sure it's selected in the recording sliders. Bring the sliders up as shown in the following pictures. If you have Vista please go Here
If not logged into paltalk first right click your speaker icon and click open volume controls
this opens playback controls
now click options.. properties
this will open the properties window... put the dot beside recording and then click ok
In Paltalk 9.0 go to setup then preferences then audio tests. Click on input mixers.
These all bring up the recording controls
Once you have the recording sliders open make sure that you have a checkmark in the box beside the word select. If the mic works but the volume is too low click on the advanced button and enable the mic boost.
If you have no advanced button then go to options in top left corner and click on advanced sound controls
