The settings to broadcast live video are easy to setup and only need doing one time. First thing you want to do is open Camtasia Studio.

Click Start ---> Mouse over All Programs ---> Camtasia Studio then click Camtasia Studio

or

Click Start ---> Mouse over All Programs ---> Camtasia Studio ---> Applications click on Camtasia Recorder

Camtasia Studio opens the larger program

Where you have to click Tools ----> Camtasia Recorder to open the recorder

Either way you do it, this window will pop up. This is the program you need to broadcast live.

This is also where you have to change to settings to allow you to broadcast. Let's have a look at it. You'll want to click Tools ---> Options

This window will pup up.

You want to click on the Live tab. On this tab you'll want to put a check mark in Enable Live Output. The Live capture rate: in this picture has been changed, you can leave it to it's default of 5 frames/sec or you can change the settings to see what works best for you.

You will also need to click the Default Video Format... button to show these settings.

Click the down arrow and set it to 24 bit RGB. Click OK. This will take you back to the Live tab, you will need to click the Capture tab.

You want a check mark in the last thing on this page, Disable display acceleration during capture. Click Ok and you are ready to start broadcasting.

There are more settings that can be messed with once you get the basics of broadcasting down. All of these can be looked at in the Help section of the program.
